In The Gap

This series of work was completed while living in a very rural area of saskatchewan, with lack of basic amenities such as central heating, running water and the like… Let me tell you, modern day conveniences are pretty amazing!

I was working with the premise of depicting the landscape as something to be enjoyed and marvelled at, rather than something to be ‘got through’ as it is often thought of in our modern day hurry. Living in the prairies, we often think of travel to other cities and towns in terms of time, time spent in the gap between places. This series celebrates that gap, rather than the destination.
