Artist Statement

I am working primarily with oils, and mediums such as epoxy resin, on wood panel. The dominant aesthetic of my work is expressive abstraction with a focus on colour and line. Layers of resin, with drawing and painting techniques playfully intersecting on each coat, enable the viewer to explore the physical depth of my work. I have always been interested in combining dissimilar elements to create a unified image; furthermore, these elements are manifestations of memory, place and experimental mark-making. Graduated with distinction in Painting from the Alberta College of Art & Design in 2006.
